Meissen Porcelain is found in every auction house around the world, be it online auction platforms, Ebay, Amazon, The-Saleroom, Easy-Live. These platforms service the many auctioneers selling items belonging to a multitude of vendors where it may not be possible to get a refund should an item prove not to be genuine . As a word of caution unless you are an experienced collector enthusiast and can recognise the differenes between genuine and reproduction or fake, just because the auctioneers description mentions the word Meissen doesnt mean the lot described is going to be genuine. Until a few years ago the major auction houses Bonhams Christies and Sothebys held specialised ceramic auctions. These days other than auctions at Bonhams both Christies and Sothebys no longer hold specialised auctions but include ceramics in their finer auctions. Bonhams on the other hand holds specialised ceramic auctions Bi-yearly.
